However, I've read 2 books this weekend (its been awhile since I made time to read a book- I missed it) and I have the messy house to prove it! Pretty sure the Hubs is second-guessing his choice of gift right now. If he's not, he WILL be reconsidering in the morning when the full impact of the laundry that did NOT get done becomes apparent. Gulp. Love it honey, sorry! On the bright side, there will be fewer book messes around!

I did cut my hair! Thanks to all who offered suggestions and advice. We took off 10"!!!! TEN! It was enough that we could have donated it to Locks of Love but since my hair is color treated, it wouldn't qualify.
My hair lady recommended that I do sort of an interim cut and live with it for awhile and then go shorter if I wanted. I didn't listen. I should have. When that first big hunk of hair came off it was kinda scary! In my younger years, I would likely have cried but it's just hair. I will say it's been a bit of a shock to have so much less hair! At this point, I don't love it. I don't hate it either. I am HOPING to love it once I get good at doing it- new styles take a little time to master. We also adjusted the color to be a little less blonde and I absolutely LOVE the color!
I'll try to have a good hair day this week and take a picture of it. Hopefully this will be the main "ACK! I'm turning 40!" panic moment.

I bet you're having fun with your nook. I got a tablet for my birthday in December and I've enjoyed it so much more than I ever thought I would.

I look forward to seeing a picture of the new "do". I am not sure I want a Nook. I enjoy the smell and texture of a printed book, but I think it would be great when traveling instead of lugging around books.
I want to see pictures too.
Hubby got a kindle fire for Christmas and I may or may not be a little jealous.
I love my Kindle and my Kindle Fire. I am sure you are absolutely going to enjoy the Nook. It is so nice to be able to take a bunch of books anywhere and not have it take up a bunch of space. I can't remember if you have a smart phone, but I also enjoy having my Kindle app on my phone and Wil had it on his iPod. That way, if you get stuck somewhere waiting, you can have something to read.

Okay- so today I bought a car charger for my Nook AND a new purse! It wouldn't fit in my old purse and goodness knows you need it with the 'hurry up and wait' life that is the very definition of Motherhood. This gift is getting more and more expensive- I've already spent my whole gift card! LOL!
I do so love it though- and very glad it's in full color. Bethany has a basic black and white Kindle and it's just not the same!
